School's out for summer, but the Vocabulary Bowl action continues in the off-season!

2020欧洲杯时间Between now and October 1st, schools are still competing for Monthly Champion Banners in both the Middle School and High School divisions. Summer word-learning keeps those vocabulary muscles toned and ready to start the 2020-2021 season with momentum and vigor.

Tigers Roar

2020欧洲杯时间Congratulations to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School of Houston, Texas for their June Vocabulary Bowl win! We know the Tigers come alive during the summer months and this year was no different. They learned 8,786 words in June, winning their eighth Monthly Champions Banner.

Since 2015, the Tigers have dominated the off-season but they're a force to be reckoned with during the regulation season too. St. Vincent de Paul finished in the Division II Top 10 and 4th place in Texas during the 2019–2020 Vocabulary Bowl! This victory earns them another hang-in-the-gym-worthy banner to display alongside their impressive collection.

There are many students and teachers who teamed up to make this victory possible — all of whom deserve extra credit for keeping up the intensity during the break — and we'd like to recognize the students in Ms. Boggato's and Mrs. Zimbaldi's classes in particular for their remarkable achievements. Congratulations to everyone involved!

Commodores are Mighty Mighty

Congratulations to Bayside High School of Bayside, New York for their third Monthly Championship! The Commodores won the High School Division by mastering 6,423 words to beat the reigning North American Champions Etiwanda by 395 words and snag the victory.

This is Bayside's third appearance at the top of the summer leaderboards, as they won the last two July Champions Banners. It looks like they decided July wasn't enough this year and commandeered the month of June as well. Will the Commodores go for a July three-peat next month? We'll be keeping an eye on the leaderboards to find out.

2020欧洲杯时间Bayside's students deserve immense credit for their heroic efforts, and so do the teachers who also worked toward this win, fostering a love of word learning and incorporating into their curricula, and that's a fact. Special shoutouts are warranted for Ms. Serpe's, Mrs. Greenberg's, Ms. Ormaechea's, Mr. Ambrose's, Ms. Waldman's, and Ms. Munisteri's classes for not holding anything back.

2020欧洲杯时间It's never too late to get your school involved in the Vocabulary Bowl. We award Champions Banners all year long, and many schools "get their game on" in the summer months. With county, state and division leaderboards where your school can vie for the top each day, week and month, there's a level of competition that's right for every school. Here's how your students can master words for your school in the Vocabulary Bowl.
